The 5th of April was important for several reasons. Mainly because it was the last day of the term, but also because it was the last day for our beloved teacher, Mrs. Hemalatha, who was lacing on retirement at the age of 60.
Mrs. Hemalatha doesn’t several years in our school giving her utmost attention to the education of her students. She taught in the fields of Buddhism, Citizenship Education, and Music, which she related to the whole school at the General Assembly on the 5th.
Present teacher, Mr. Samarakoon, gave a lengthy speech of appraisal about the services of our dear teacher and following it was a speech by Mrs. Hemalatha herself, thanking the school and relating to all her life as a teacher in St. Anthony’s.
The emotional assembly ended with much talk among the students of her services to the school.
