It was the second day of the grand Exhibition Renaissance organised by the Antonian students and teachers. After a first day of much grandeur, the entire school from the Media Unit to the Agricultural Section were ready to let it happen all over again. The second day, however, was not as they had hoped it to be. The sky was overcast, dull and grey, threatening to release a downpour on the school. Luckily, only a few drizzles were experienced.
The day began as the register books were marked and the students went to the main gate and formed lines leading to the local village occupying the primary ground as they did the previous day. The cadet band was already ready at their positions. Students from other schools began entering right about then and thronged behind the statue of St. Anthony.
The chief Guest, P.B. Wijeyarath, Secretary of the Provincial Department Office and the Guest of Honour, Very. Rev. Fr. Milory Fonseka were very punctual, arriving at exactly 9.00 a.m. The Guests were lead by the Western cadet band to the flagpoles where they hoisted the flags. The National and College Anthems followed.
And as they had done on the previous day, the Primary Tamil Dancing Troupe led the Guests toward the Local Village. Thus, began another day at the Renaissance.
